Unit Fourteen 1kg Big Bag, Peru - Round Hill Roastery
A big 1kg bag of Unit Fourteen, Round Hill's seasonally rotating house espresso that changes with the harvest. This coffee has been roasted specifically for espresso but is light enough to work well as a bold filter coffee.
Just this year they’ve given us a Colombian, a Costa Rican and for this round they're off to Peru, sourcing coffee from the Andean highlands around Jaen.
In this area of Cajamarca coffee is farmed up to a mighty 2100MASL and, like the majority of the Peruvian coffee industry, is grown by smallholders on only a few hectares of land. These producers hand harvest their coffee and it is washed at their own on site facilities or with the help of their neighbours.
This lot is perfect for Round Hill’s house espresso; a super clean and well rounded coffee that's silky, versatile and marked by tasting notes of red grape, butterscotch and cocoa.
Somerset has a thriving speciality coffee scene and Round Hill Roastery, based just outside Bath, are a key player. This coffee roaster focuses on single farm and single estate coffee allows them to create strong relationships direct with suppliers and bring truly unique coffee and complete transparency to their customers.
Round Hill roast their coffee specifically for either filter or espresso so they can bring out the best in their beans and their bright bags make things simple: blue for filter, pink for espresso.
