Austrian wine’s proud history dates back to the Roman era, blessed by distinctive terroir and indigenous grape varieties like Grüner Veltliner and Blaufränkisch. The natural wine movement has been thoroughly embraced by Austrian winemakers- after all, it’s the home of philosopher Rudolf Steiner who developed the concept of biodynamic farming, which underpins much of the natty approach.
