Caballero La Tina, Honduras - Round Hill Roastery
Third and second generation coffee growers Marysabel Caballero and her husband Moises Herrera have become familiar names in Honduran coffee and beyond. Under the banner of Finca El Puente, the couple manage 200 hectares of land across 36 plots all over Honduras, maintaining quality and consistency by overseeing the entire coffee journey from seedling to export.
This mixed-varietal lot comes from several of these small plots across the tropical region of Marcala, which brings challenges for processing but plenty of rewards in its nuanced flavour and regional characteristics. The high humidity means that the drying period for natural process coffees can take up to 40 days, which under the expert supervision of the couple creates a truly unique fruit forward-profile with standout guava and watermelon tasting notes.
The Caballeros are one of Round Hill Roastery’s longstanding partners, offering plenty of exciting single origins throughout the year as well as providing for one of Unit Fourteen’s rotating seasonal coffees.
Somerset has a thriving speciality coffee scene and Round Hill Roastery, based just outside Bath, are a key player. This coffee roaster focuses on single farm and single estate coffee allows them to create strong relationships direct with suppliers and bring truly unique coffee and complete transparency to their customers.
Round Hill roast their coffee specifically for either filter or espresso so they can bring out the best in their beans and their bright bags make things simple: blue for filter, pink for espresso.
