Snowdown, Indonesia - Cult Coffee Roasters
We tried Cult’s Indonesian coffee earlier this year and it's coming back to town in time for Christmas!
Like the fly crop (second harvest), this main crop of Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperative’s Kerinci lot pulls from 320 coffee producers around Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra. The nutrient rich volcanic soil here produces exceptional coffee beans.
The cooperative was formed in 2017 and is managed by Triyono. He has been instrumental inthe growth of the organisation, establishing a fully-equipped roasting facility complete with a cupping lab for quality control near the dry mill. Koerintji Barokah members now not only grow and process high-quality coffee are also able to market it directly to roasters like Cult who just can't get enough!
This natural lot packs rich stewed apple and fig jam sweetness, a buttery body and vibrant blood orange flavour as it cools.
Cult is an Edinburgh based cafe and roastery who've been promoting an ethos of fun, inclusivity and sharing from their converted vennel since 2014.
