Another stunner from Glasgow roasters ZENNOR, and what’s more it’s another Daye Bensa beauty.

The Ethiopian coffee company, founded by two coffee producing brothers, are one of Ethiopia’s leading exporters and are behind some of the most exciting coffees we’ve tried this year. They’ve transformed their family’s legacy from garden farm to 75 award winning washing stations across Sidama, and despite this staggering growth have always put quality first. Gatta is the home of Daye Bensa’s specialty programme, sitting over 2000MASL amongst natural forestry. First planted in 2013, the Gatta site also encompasses a drying station and training facility that allows them to process premium coffees like this one.

This honey-processed lot involved pulping the cherries, leaving varying amounts of mucilage intact, and then transferring them to raised beds for drying.

It combines the sweetness of a Sidama natural with the floral clarity of a washed Ethiopian for a cup that shines with syrupy nectarine, candy floss grape and lemon acidity- ideal for some very special Kalita brewing.

Specialty coffee roasters and coffee shop ZENNOR have been operating in Glasgow’s East End for 3 years. Sophie and Kieran’s minimalistic space is home to a carefully curated selection of single-origin coffees, all ethically sourced for their clean flavour that lets intricate tasting notes shine through.
