Ñuu Davii, Mexico - Wood St. Coffee
A beautifully balanced Mexican coffee courtesy of the good guys at Wood St Coffee and Ensambles Cafés Mexicanos. Sweet and nutty with a generous chocolate body and some clean citrus acidity, this washed coffee makes for a really versatile brew across all brewing methods.
These coffee beans have been sourced from Mixtec indigenous coffee producers living in the Sierra Mazateca, Oaxaca. The Mixtec people, who call their region Ñuu Davii (nation of the rain), settled high in these mountains after fleeing Spanish conquest and have relied on coffee as a cash crop for decades.
Exporter Ensambles have worked with Mixtec producers since 2021, training smallholder farmers in sustainable agroforestry and offering quality control in mobile laboratories. Through this system, they can provide personalised feedback for producers and ensure they are able to access better prices.
Specialty coffee roasters Wood St started life as a coffee stall in Walthamstow’s Wood Street Indoor Market and slowly evolved into a permanent neighbourhood fixture, bringing REALLY GOOD COFFEE to their corner of East London.

In 2022, Clare and Gareth Reid handed over the reins of the cafe and honed in on their roasting business, moving into a large unit in Saffron Walden, Essex to meet the growing demand for their REALLY GOOD COFFEE across the hospitality sector.
It’s in high demand for a reason: responsibly sourced, democratised coffee, carefully roasted with the core belief that anyone can brew great coffee if given the tools, knowledge and training.
