Los Nogales, El Salvador

Los Nogales, El Salvador - Wood St. Coffee

The Salaverria family are one of El Salvador’s largest coffee producers, owning multiple farms around the mineral-rich Santa Ana volcano and managing to produce real quality at volume. This lot roasted by Wood St Coffee is a special one as it comes from Los Nogales, the first farm that the Salverria family’s growing, processing and exporting business JASAL acquired and where Jose Antonio Salaverria grew up. Los Nogales has laid the foundation for high quality, experimental coffee cultivation and processing- which takes place at their central mill Beneficio Las Cruces.

This natural process coffee is a staple every autumn on Wood St’s offer list, bringing a comforting balance of bright blackberry jam, chocolatey body and a nutty finish.

Specialty coffee roasters Wood St started life as a coffee stall in Walthamstow’s Wood Street Indoor Market and slowly evolved into a permanent neighbourhood fixture, bringing REALLY GOOD COFFEE to their corner of East London.

In 2022, Clare and Gareth Reid handed over the reins of the cafe and honed in on their roasting business, moving into a large unit in Saffron Walden, Essex to meet the growing demand for their REALLY GOOD COFFEE across the hospitality sector.

It’s in high demand for a reason: responsibly sourced, democratised coffee, carefully roasted with the core belief that anyone can brew great coffee if given the tools, knowledge and training.
