Fortitude Coffee

Founded in 2014, Fortitude began life as a multi roaster coffee shop before becoming a well established coffee roaster in their own right. Their industry has changed massively across over a decade of business that’s included a pandemic and the trouble this spelt for hospitality. They’ve now refocused on the roasting side of their business and moved from two city centre locations to a pair of coffee shops further out of the city; one on popular Hamilton Place in Stockbridge, and another in well-connected Abbeyhill near Holyroodhouse.

Both Fortitude shops are bright and airy and keep aspects of both their old coffee shops and the history of the respective buildings close by in their design. We’re still always excited to see a Modbar and it was no different at the Stockbridge branch.

There’s plenty of seating for midweek working, a good supply of bakes on the counter, and well stocked shelves full of their freshly roasted coffee.
