We’ve been lucky enough to try a bunch of Cairngorm’s coffee while stocking their beans on drop, and it’s great to see so much of it on offer on the bar. The team use a La Marzocco Linea in sunny Cairngorm yellow with multiple espresso options always available and plenty of batch brew to power through the day.
Open 7am-7pm, Cairngorm’s Melville Place site is a real rarity that spans dawn risers, bustling lunchtimes right through to calm and cosy evenings. We were really impressed with their selection of seating, including a bar with built-in iPads for customer browsing, as well as by the atmosphere that’s more comforting and welcoming than a lot of other specialty coffee shops, tapping into the fun side of the industry with a real focus on Scottish coffee community and culture.
Cairngorm are staying true to their name by establishing a base on the edge of the Cairngorm’s National Park. If Edinburgh’s just the starting point of your trip through the Scottish Highlands, be sure to stop at Ralia and the Cairngorm General Store near Newtonmore.
