Sitio Pinhal, Brazil - Spaceboy Coffee

An absolute treat fresh off the Spaceboy roaster. These new Brazilian coffee beans really stand out from the rest- super smooth with dimensional forest fruit and cherry flavour and just a hint of that classic nutty profile.

It’s no surprise that Sitio Pinhal has managed to produce such a unique coffee. This small but mighty 9 hectare farm is owned by Walter Danzinger, who produces exceptional quality lots from his small harvests by selectively picking and meticulously processing his product. Like most farms in the Sul de Minas region, Pinhalzinho focuses on natural processing, with the drying patio located close to the family home so Walter can pay close attention to the coffee as it dries.

With yields as low as 80 bags a year, it’s crucial that Sitio Pinhal gets the best quality they can from their harvests and achieves the best prices possible. Walter is a member of Cooxupé regional cooperative, so can access a direct market for his coffee and make every single bean count.

Finn's experimental approach is reflected in his coffees, fun, funky and a bit wild - all things we can get behind. After sourcing the best quality green beans, the perfect roast-profile is tested to achieve the best representation of the coffee’s profile, which can be replicated with incredible accuracy. With no desire to open a coffee shop of their own, all the focus for Spaceboy is on roasting up the good stuff, supplying cafés and people like us with expertly roasted coffee beans.
