Rototu, Timor Leste - Harmony Coffee
A new bright and fruity coffee from Timor Leste courtesy of Harmony Coffee’s relationship with importers Karst organics. Their producer group Rototu brings together coffee from smallholder farms in Letefoho where manager and Timorese agricultural expert Maun Simao is encouraging high quality natural coffee that is improving year after year.
Harmony describe this partnership as a ‘High Impact’ project, because their investment goes much further and has a greater benefit at the producer level than the same dollar value would in other producing countries, further incentivising careful production by Rototu member farms.
This lot blends Typica and Timor Hybrid for a really well balanced cup that’s bright with citrus and a nostalgic hit of fizzy cola-bottle sweets.
We’re recommending this one for a mouthwatering black filter coffee, or a vibrant espresso that still shines with milk.
After competing in (and winning) barista comps across the UK, and roasting up a storm with Kiss the Hippo, Ben Rowe’s going it alone with his own nano-roastery Harmony Coffee based in York. A real coffee man through and through, Ben has worked in almost every sector of the industry, and the coffee we’ve tried from Harmony shows this wealth of experience.
Harmony’s coffees hope to showcase incredible quality, ethically sourced specialty lots for every coffee lover’s need, from easy drinking cups to something a bit out of the ordinary.
