Sugar Glider, Ethiopia - Elsewhere Coffee Roasters
Elsewhere’s contribution to the abundance of Ethiopian coffee on our shelves is this super delicate coffee from Chelbesa washing station in Gedeb. This clean and bright brew has juicy grapefruit acidity from the off with tea-like florals bringing lots of complexity.
We’ve tried a lot of natural process Ethiopian coffee this season, but this one is a reminder of the clarity and character that traditional washed processing offers. At Chelbesa that means freshly picked ripe cherries from local smallholder farmers are pulped and sorted before being fermented for 72 hours, soaked, rinsed and laid out to dry.
