Anthracite - Coaltown Coffee
Coaltown’s Anthracite is all about changing your expectations of coffee flavours, creating a natural espresso that is juicy, fruity and stands out without milk. This version uses a Ugandan coffee that certainly meets that criteria and more, packed with strawberry and peach fruit flavour with a satisfying honey mouthfeel.
Kisinga Coffee Station was built in 2015 to explore the full potential of coffee from Uganda’s Rwenzori mountains, empowering farmers to produce high quality coffee through careful agricultural programmes. Importer Agri Evolve has also invested in donkeys to help assess and collect coffee cherry in particularly remote locations. The lots they collect, nicknamed ‘donkey lots’, celebrate exclusivity and uniqueness - making them a perfect fit for this boundary-pushing brew.
Founder Scott set up Coaltown in his hometown of Ammanford, a former mining town in South Wales, in 2019. His aim was to bring an industry back to this community by employing local people and creating a passion for a new black gold: specialty coffee.
