Coffee from El Salvador
Coffee from El Salvador had a massive boom in the mid-20th century thanks to its perfect high-yield conditions. Around ninety percent of Salvadoran coffee is shade grown which contributes towards complexity and also helps to maintain the country’s biodiversity.
El Salvador
Despite years of civil unrest, the small Central American nation has been able to retain its fantastic heirloom Bourbon trees and continue producing high quality green beans that make for balanced and versatile coffee. El Salvador’s coffee cultivation consists mainly of small farms and micro-lots that focus on specific processes and varieties.
With excellent infrastructure and naturally mineral rich volcanic soil, El Salvador is re-establishing itself as a leading producer of high-quality coffee.
