Blends
A coffee blend is a coffee that is made up of coffee beans originating from more than one place - this could be across multiple countries or even disparate regions within the same country.
Compared to single-origins, which can be full of unique and complex tasting notes and flavour profiles, specialty coffee roasters tend to create blends to create balance. Blends can also be used to bring out specific tasting notes that might not be found in one varietal or origin, or to produce and import more sustainably with climate change disasters contributing to disrupted harvests. This practice allows a roaster to keep a consistent product across the seasons.
