Minca, Peru - Coaltown Coffee
Minca, which gives its name to Coaltown’s single-origin Peruvian coffee, is a Quechua term to describe the camaraderie among farmers. Neighbouring farmers assist each other throughout the crop cycle, moving from farm to farm as a community.
This washed lot has been sourced from seven farms in Junìn, a productive region in the central Peruvian highlands. The high altitude, fertile soil, and good access to water make for ideal coffee growing conditions.
Sweet and rich, this coffee offers versatile chocolate and prune flavour, perfect for a crowd-pleasing french-press brew.
Founder Scott set up Coaltown in his hometown of Ammanford, a former mining town in South Wales, in 2019. His aim was to bring an industry back to this community by employing local people and creating a passion for a new black gold: specialty coffee.
