Chinese Coffee
A late entry to the specialty coffee game, China is definitely better known for its tea than its coffee. Chinese coffee is rapidly growing in quality thanks to the support of speciality importers attracted to its sweet and interesting traits.
China
Big name coffee corps have been investing in commercial robusta coffee production in the south of the nation since the 90s, but now growers are turning their attention to quality and hoping to build a reputation with disease-resistant varieties of arabica. The southern province of Yunnan that borders Vietnam, Myanmar and Laos is responsible for 95% of all coffee grown in China, with wet and dry seasons and a temperate climate: similar environmental characteristics to South American and African growing regions.
