Unit Fourteen 1kg Big Bag, Costa Rica - Round Hill Roastery
A big 1kg bag of Unit Fourteen, Round Hill's seasonally rotating house espresso that changes with the harvest. This coffee has been roasted specifically for espresso but is light enough to work well as a bold filter coffee.
Just this year they’ve given us a a Honduran, a Peruvian, a Colombian and for this round they're off to Costa Rica, sourcing coffee from Diego Robelo's Aquiares Estate.
The majority of coffee we've tried from Aquiares has been the result of Diego's innovations in processing and fermentation, but for this house espresso Round Hill have opted for this super clean and well rounded washed coffee that's silky, versatile and marked by tasting notes of plum, chocolate and brown sugar.
Somerset has a thriving speciality coffee scene and Round Hill Roastery, based just outside Bath, are a key player. This coffee roaster focuses on single farm and single estate coffee allows them to create strong relationships direct with suppliers and bring truly unique coffee and complete transparency to their customers.
Round Hill roast their coffee specifically for either filter or espresso so they can bring out the best in their beans and their bright bags make things simple: blue for filter, pink for espresso.
