Kerinci Indonesia - Cult Coffee Roasters

Complex and juicy Indonesian coffee beans roasted in Edinburgh by Cult, grown in the foothills of Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra where ancient volcanic activity and lush forests provide fertile coffee growing conditions.

This lot has been sourced from the Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperative, whose 320 members are assisted in processing, technical support, and quality-checking by manager Triyono and guaranteed a fixed buyer and fair prices.

This coffee has undergone anaerobic processing at a collection centre owned and operated by the cooperative. The coffee is first floated to remove poor quality cherries, then sealed in airtight bags for a week. Following this, the cherries are laid out on sheltered raised beds to dry before being hand sorted.

This bag has that classic boozy quality we’ve come to expect from anaerobic naturals, with prominent cherry, rose and hibiscus tasting notes and a syrupy body.

Cult is an Edinburgh based cafe and roastery who've been promoting an ethos of fun, inclusivity and sharing from their converted vennel since 2014. These values have carried through into their roasting, sourcing high quality seasonal focused coffees to share with their community. Cult roast separate espresso and filter roast profiles to enhance the qualities of the coffees they take care to source and to optimise them for your preferred brewing method.
