This new coffee roasted in Nottingham by Cartwheel Coffee has introduced us to another new coffee origin! These coffee beans from Ecuador have been sourced from coffee producers near Puyango, Lojo Province. This Andean region offers perfect coffee growing conditions, and its better developed infrastructure has given opportunities for investment in specialty coffee.

Like a majority of Ecuadorian coffees, this coffee comes from a community lot grown by smallhold producers in and around the mountains of Puyango who have been trained by exporters Caravela. This lot was pulped, fermented and then washed before being dried on raised beds. The resulting taste is a cherry sweet mouthful, with pleasant marmalade acidity.
