Kenedy Lopez Ceron was born into a traditional coffee growing family in Nariño, Colombia and inherited his farm El Nido which also produces plantain, lime and yuca in the volcanic soils for which the region is famed.

Over time and with the help of his wife Adela, Don Kenedy has really focused on improving the quality of his coffee, which stands out as some of the best from the municipality of La Union. This reputation is upheld by the strict ripeness criteria that is followed on the 6 hectare farm. After harvest at peak ripeness, the coffee cherries were floated and hand sorted for defects. For this washed lot, the cherries underwent 30 hours of underwater fermentation prior to pulping, with the parchment coffee washed and carefully dried in temperature controlled conditions thereafter.
