Aranleón Sólo Brut Cava - Bodega Aranleón
A really well rounded organic Cava from Bodega Aranleón in Utiel-Requena. Sólo Cava Brut is a blend of 75% Chardonnay from their vineyard in Finca Los Rincones and 25% Macabeo from Finca Casa la Viña.
This Spanish sparkling wine's second fermentation takes place in a purpose built underground winery to maintain constant temperatures, before the bottles are aged on their lees for 11 months.
Lots of green apple and blossom on the nose with white fruit and a surprisingly generous and long breadiness on the palate.
Bodega Aranleón Organic Wine began their project in 2000 when they bought an old winery in the small Spanish village of Los Marcos in Utiel-Requena. This area 100km from the Mediterranean near Valencia is renowned for growing the red grape Bobal but is increasingly producing outstanding Cava.
Across their three organic vineyards they grow a range of red and white varieties that are very sensitively managed in accordance with EU sustainability guidelines.
