Odako, Ethiopia - Roasting Party
This Ethiopian specialty coffee comes from Daye Bensa’s Gatta Station in Shantawene Village, Sidama. Daye Bensa have nicknamed this micro-lot coffee Odako in tribute to the Odako tree that is the meeting point for the Shantawene community.
The cherries for this natural process lot come from around 600 Daye Bensa member farms in and around the village. This micro-lot has been specially selected and processed separately to show off that classic Sidama appellation character.
The coffee cherry is dried on African raised beds for at least three weeks during which it is regularly stirred, turned and covered during the hottest midday hours. This extended process enriches the coffee’s natural sweetness and protects its delicate character for a cup with a velvety body backed by vibrantly fruity and herbaceous notes of strawberry, lemon thyme and pineapple that are great for filter brewing. What’s more, Roasting Party offer their coffee in 340g bags so you get even more of their limited single origin releases!
