Ritual Coffee's strong relationship with Fazenda Catanduva is built on the back of outstanding coffees like this one. The farm is located in Brazil’s Cerrado Mineiro, where the high quality unique coffee beans that result from a distinct terroir and climate have seen the region globally recognised as a Designation of Origin.

Though located in Cerrado Mineiro, Catanduva is named for the city in Sao Paulo where the Nakao family first settled after their arrival from Japan. The farm has been in the Nakao family for over 30 years and is today overseen by third generation farmer Alfredo Jesus Mitio Nakao who manages the 192 hectares of coffee plants with a balance of quality, tradition and environmental responsibility.

This Tupi lot underwent the traditional Brazilian pulped natural processing, a technique very similar to honey processing that was developed in order to speed up the drying time of natural processed coffee in Brazil’s humid climate. Unlike with honey processing a change in flavour is not the main aim here- and instead of intense fruit the final cup is filled with chocolatey depth and some spiked cherry cola boozy notes that we think make for an exceptional Aeropress brew.
