A great new micro-lot espresso option from the team at Kobean. The moreish caramelised brown sugar, rich chocolatey body and zesty orange  acidity reflect the careful processing we’ve come to expect from Kobean’s exceptional Colombian coffee sourcing.

This lot comes from third-gen producer Jhonatan Gasca. His farm Bella Vista is located in the Pitalito area of Huila, the region with the highest production in Colombia, where coffee is harvested almost all year long.

Jhonatan’s family coffee business Zarza makes the best of these conditions by following a precise approach to washed processing. Their meticulous fermentation management and very slow drying, this one took 60 hours to complete the process, makes for super clean and surprisingly expressive cups.

Specialty coffee roastery Kobean is based in Heaton Moor, Stockport where they focus on sourcing interesting and experimental lots.

With the climate and economic issues that the specialty coffee industry faces, founder Kobe believes that the future of coffee is with producers who are keen to add that extra-special something to their coffee.
