Tanzania Isaiso - Hundred House Coffee

With high altitudes, volcanic soils and a humid climate, Tanzania is every bit as good for producing coffee as its neighbours Uganda, Kenya and Burundi, but this is our first time getting to try it! These coffee beans, roasted by the good guys at Hundred House, have been produced by the Isaiso Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society in south west Tanzania’s Mbozi District. This co-op helps with resources and marketing so that farmers in the region can increase their yield. Their process is incredibly labour intensive and skilled involving hand-picking, sorting and peeling.

Rich in flavour but clean and balanced, this washed lot is bringing all the autumn vibes with notes of toffee apple, blackcurrant and cinnamon.

Hundred House Coffee have been roasting in the Shropshire hills since 2017. From their small rural home near the Welsh border, they’ve opened a dialogue with rural farming communities all over the world to source the best coffee as ethically as possible. Co-founders Matthew Wade and Anabelle De Gersigny focus on careful small batch roasting backed by decades of coffee experience. The team at Hundred House’s passion for culture means their coffee also supports the creative community through outreach and collaboration.
