Alix Ramirez, Honduras - Hundred House Coffee
This new Honduran coffee is a major crowd-pleaser: what’s not to like about tasting notes of sweet red cherry, orange and a chocolatey body?
Hundred House have sourced this one from Alix Yovani Ramírez, who worked his way up from farm labourer to purchase his first plot in 2005. He now runs Finca El Aguacatillo, a 14 hectare farm in Guinope where he produces competition-level washed coffee and grows high-yield cultivars like IHCAFE90 and Lempira that have been designed to thrive in Honduras.
Hundred House Coffee have been roasting in the Shropshire hills since 2017. From their small rural home near the Welsh border, they’ve opened a dialogue with rural farming communities all over the world to source the best coffee as ethically as possible.
Co-founders Matthew Wade and Anabelle De Gersigny focus on careful small batch roasting backed by decades of coffee experience. The team at Hundred House’s passion for culture means their coffee also supports the creative community through outreach and collaboration.
