Imbalu, Uganda - Curve Coffee
It’s always a tough task picking from Curve’s list of feature filters, but this Ugandan coffee jumped out instantly. Imbalu comes from Norman Mukuru’s The Coffee Yard in Mount Elgon, which has been producing some exceptional lots this year.
Experienced coffee producer Norman has been working to refine processing techniques in order to develop distinct and expressive flavour profiles. This anaerobic natural involved a carefully managed fermentation process before being dried slowly on raised beds. The result is a coffee that still has lots of classic Ugandan dark fruit character that is perfectly matched by a slight cassis booziness and a sweet and syrupy body.
Curve Coffee Roasters are a values-driven roastery based in sunny Margate, Kent, founded in the back of a café in 2016 by passionate coffee professionals Tereza and Jon.
Curve know that the coffee they roast has the potential to make big differences to people’s livelihood and create better balance in the coffee industry. As a result, Curve’s focus is on seasonal, high quality coffees that are better not only for coffee drinkers but for the supply chain and the planet too.
