Gombe, Uganda - Curve Coffee

This super versatile Ugandan coffee is great for both espresso and filter brewing, delicious on its own or with milk, and provides seasonal tasting notes of dried fruits and toffee apple- we might struggle to recommend anything else this Autumn.

Curve Coffee have sourced this micro-lot from 337 smallholders around Gombe village in Sironko, which sits on the mountains above The Coffee Gardens’ central washing station Bukyabo. The Coffee Gardens are a progressive exporter who heavily reward their farmers with bonuses, training and additional employment opportunities. For the 600 farmers they work with, The Coffee Gardens are a reliable and consistent partner who can offer them a year round income. For their customers, like importer Falcon, they are a model of quality, transparency and sustainability.

The Coffee Gardens have worked with these farmers for the past 8 years, providing training and seedlings along the way to help them achieve specialty quality coffee. This washed lot underwent 40 hours of dry fermentation before being washed in cool mountain spring water and dried first on raised beds and then in custom-built solar driers.

Curve Coffee Roasters are a values-driven roastery based in sunny Margate, Kent, founded in the back of a café in 2016 by passionate coffee professionals Tereza and Jon.

Curve know that the coffee they roast has the potential to make big differences to people’s livelihood and create better balance in the coffee industry. As a result, Curve’s focus is on seasonal, high quality coffees that are better not only for coffee drinkers but for the supply chain and the planet too.
