Llano, Costa Rica - Coborn Coffee
El Llano is part of Café Ceres, a micromill founded by mother-daughter duo Alexandra and Stephenny in the mountains of Costa Rica’s iconic Tarrazú coffee region. While they only began their project in 2019, the pair had been preparing for its opening for years and were straight out the gates producing exceptional microlots.
Their coffee reflects their deep connection to the land and commitment to environmental sustainability. Café Ceres are currently working to earn the Bandera Azul ecological certification which recognises businesses who protect the country's unique natural resources.
This natural process lot is a great showcase of Costa Rica’s vibrant identity - prominent mango flavour and zesty citrus acidity with a silky body.
London based micro-roastery Coborn Coffee have a loyal following of supporters who have the same respect for both their high quality coffee and responsible sourcing and roasting. Justin and Kenny founded Coborn with the aim of making unique and great tasting coffees affordable to their local communities. In the two years since their inception, they’ve managed all of this while sourcing only from female majority owned farms and co-ops in developing economies.
We got chatting to these guys at London Coffee Festival and couldn’t get enough of their fun-filled brews or ambitious ideas for the coffee industry so we’re thrilled to have them on drop.
