We try so many that we forget it takes something pretty special to make a great single origin coffee. This one from Cloud Picker is a regional blend sourced from about 400 smallholder farmers in and around the Vianí municipality of Colombia.

Sweet, smooth and rich with tasting notes of fig and cacao this is a brilliant all-day-drinker that takes classic coffee flavour to the next level.

70% of the washed Vianí lot comes from Sr Joseel, who runs a collection centre 3 hours from Bogota, buying coffee from smaller producers to sell on to Colombian exporter Racafe. These producers all adhere to the standards of Racafe’s Crecer project which was set up to establish a programme of environmental, social and economic sustainability at farmer level.

Crecer encompasses biodiversity, water usage, agricultural training, food security, business management and so much more and has been transformative for smaller farmers across Colombia. Many previously exclusively sold to Nescafe, but support from Racafe and the demand for specialty coffee means that they’re able to receive premiums while improving the quality of their coffee.
