Halo Beriti, Ethiopia - Carter Coffee

Carter’s latest Ethiopian coffee highlights all the complexities of natural process beans from the renowned Yirgacheffe coffee region. This delicate and refreshing coffee from Halo Beriti in Kochere is marked by lively blueberry and watermelon tasting notes with a perfumed finish.

The village of Halo Beriti is situated in the highlands of the Gedeo Zone, where wild coffee plants grow up to 2200 MASL shaded by lush green forestry. Coffee from around 450 smallholder farmers here is transported by donkeys to the nearby mill for processing.

This bag is another bright example of this bumper season for natural coffee from Ethiopia!

Carter might be Edinburgh’s new kids on the block but founders Danny and Sorley bring with them a wealth of roasting and brewing experience honed from Australia to Scotland.

A philosophy of craftsmanship, connection, technical expertise and relationships underpins their idea that the best coffee is better shared. Their offer list is picked with flavour first, opting for established farmers who value quality and innovation.

For now, they’ve been popping up all over the UK, building their community by getting their beans brewing on coffee bars up and down the country. They've quickly made a big name for themselves, but they’ve got even bigger plans for 2026.
