Ismeria León and her sister Merly are part of the growing number of Peruvians entering the coffee industry. Since 2015, single mother of 4 Ismeria has managed her 2 hectare farm La Lúcuma in Callayuc, where the extreme 2250MASL altitude, sunshine and cool climate provide ideal coffee growing conditions. Ismeria is a member of Aromas del Valle, a co-operative of 300 members across Cajamarca who hope to provide better representation and transparency for these smaller farms.

Their support has helped Ismeria improve her knowledge, quality and processing, elevating this washed microlot with a 48 hour anaerobic fermentation period.
