Muje Mesina Washing Station is located in East Guji, a region with a real reputation for producing some of Ethiopia’s finest coffees. Previously Guji Zone coffee was lumped in with coffee from Yirgacheffe, but the area has gained distinction for its unique microclimates and its own indigenous heirloom varieties.

Muje Mesina features 200 shaded drying beds which produce traditional natural lots which are dried for 15-18 days with frequent turning and constant moisture monitoring. The team at Muje Mesina have also installed two underground water sources, addressing a vital need for the hundreds of smallholders who contribute to the station.
