A classic Ethiopian natural coffee from Banko Gotiti wetmill in the Yirgacheffe coffee region. This bag from Outpost offers sweet jasmine and peach flavour, with creamy white chocolate body.

The mill is located in the Gotiti kebele in the Kochere district and is managed by Alemu Bukato who oversees the processing of coffee from around 650 local farmers. Banko Gotiti has gained a reputation for complex and characterful coffees, even in a region that is pretty much synonymous with quality coffee. High altitude, fertile soil, sunshine but plentiful rain make coffee from this part of Ethiopia stand out, but Alemu’s supervision of their meticulous processing work sets it apart.

Shadegrown heirloom coffee cherries are delivered to the mill for sorting, and then dried in the sun on raised beds for 12-15 days. Once they get to the beds they’re babied: raked, turned, covered during peak sunshine hours and from nighttime dew.
