Saul Cerqueda, Mexico - Curve Coffee
Saul Cerqueda’s microlot coffee wouldn’t normally be highlighted, with the majority of lots from Mexican coffee farms not yielding enough to be exported as single farmer coffees. Red Beetle and Raw Material are determined to separate out more of these high-grade lots from co-operatives in Oaxaca and bring them to market under the individual producer’s name; a big step for a fairer and more transparent supply chain.
These efforts incentivise and reward quality production which is very clear to see in Saul’s washed lot, roasted by Curve Coffee. Super sweet, clean and juicy with blackcurrant flavour reminiscent of vibrant Kenyan coffees.
Curve Coffee Roasters are a values-driven roastery based in sunny Margate, Kent, founded in the back of a café in 2016 by passionate coffee professionals Tereza and Jon.
