Guatemalan coffee producer Vanessa Braun Valle’s farm Finca Concepción dates back to 1890 and has been passed down through her ancestors. Until recently, the farm consisted of its original Bourbon plantings, but this coffee from Crankhouse is the result of Finca Concepcion’s new special variety programme, blending the Pacamara they planted in 2020 and Geisha that was planted in 2019.

All coffee was hand harvested as a field blend at peak ripeness and taken to the nearby mill for depulping. The coffee was fermented for 36 hours then washed and left to soak in clean water before drying. This is a completely different Guatemalan coffee than we're used to, bringing subtle pear drop florals and pineapple sweetness against a smooth nutty body.
