This washed coffee comes from smallholders in the Murambi Hills in Burundi- part of Migoti Coffee’s network in this East African country. Migoti work with importer Omwani to source the best Burundian coffees, purchasing coffee cherries directly from farmers around Lake Tanganyika so they can be carefully processed at one of their central washing stations and sorted into outstanding specialty lots.

Roasted by Cairngorm in Edinburgh, this lot is remarkably sweet and clean. In the cup it evokes that classic strawberries and cream combo, with juicy raspberry acidity providing great brightness that really comes out as it cools. Even with that fruity flavour, we think this one’s a real crowd pleaser, either as a complex espresso or a fruity batch brew.
