Rafael Cambro Soplo 2023 - Rafael Cambro
A big, punchy medium-bodied red wine from Spanish maker Rafael Cambro. Perfumed aroma, crunchy fruit and a slight smokiness from its 4 month French oak fermentation, Soplo is incredible value for a high quality 100% young Garnacha. Cambro’s vineyards are tended to organically, with great attention given to ensuring his wines represent the terroir of the Serra de l'Ombria just inland of Valencia, so are co-planted with olive and almond trees in clay rich soils.
Valencia based Rafael Cambro was born into winemaking, his family own one of Spain’s most renowned nurseries.
His own vineyard operates with minimal intervention, and his making emphasises the human relationship with nature and, having inherited many of his vines, creating a legacy in the soil and in the grapes he grows.
