Finca Tunkimayu Lot 20, Peru - Crankhouse Coffee
These Peruvian coffee beans roasted by Crankhouse provide a deliciously well-rounded cup with versatile tasting notes of sharp orange marmalade, sweet date and chocolate that work well with all brewing methods.
Importers Que Onda work with coffee farmers in Peru and Mexico offering them an independent route to the market that prioritises community, biodiversity and the land. This washed bourbon lot was sourced from father-daughter duo Alejandro and Synthia Castañeda whose farm Finca Tunkimayu is located in the culturally significant region of Cusco- the capital of the Inca empire.
Anthropologist Synthia’s passion for specialty coffee is inspired by her culture and its deep connection with nature and wants to show the role that indigenous women play in coffee production, securing a sustainable future for coffee farming in her community.
Exeter based Crankhouse Coffee launched in 2014, growing from a single car garage to a roastery in the heart of Exeter where quality is key. Today, they are dedicated to a sustainable future of coffee, and contribute to organisations that drive science-based change in the industry such as the Specialty Coffee Association, World Coffee Research, Alliance for Coffee Excellence and One Percent for the Planet.
