La Piña, Mexico - Cartwheel Coffee
We’re loving all of these tropical coffees from Cartwheel to get us through the dark winter months. With tasting notes of juicy pineapple, lychee and sweet marshmallow, this washed Mexican coffee is perfect for pourover.
La Piña draws from the nano-lots of small-scale producers in Limontitla, ‘the land of lemons, in the Mexican state of Puebla. The size of these lots, less than 1 hectare, means there is a great level of control in the farming, and Ensambles, a Mexican owned sourcer and exporter, provides fair prices, expert processing and field training for these producers.
Cartwheel is a Nottingham based independent specialty coffee roastery and café who are bringing transparent conversations about the journey of their coffee to their customers. Having grown up working in his Mum’s café, founder Alex threw himself on a whirlwind coffee journey all over the UK, becoming passionate about sharing coffee as more than a commodity product.
