Priory Farm, Kenya - Cairngorm Coffee
It’s not tough to find a great tasting Kenyan coffee, but it can be tricky to find one that is sourced responsibly or traceably and genuinely supports the farmers who grow it. Cairngorm have done the hard work, sourcing this one from Great Rift Coffee in Nandi County. Founded in 2019, Great Rift cultivate 300 acres of coffee growing land while also building relationships with over 300 smallholder farms to process, mill and export their harvest.
All of their coffee is grown without the use of synthetic chemicals under indigenous shade trees and amongst other cash crops, providing fertile soils, biodiversity, the perfect growing environment, and additional income.
The final cup has all of the typical vibrancy and clarity you’d expect from fully washed Kenyan coffee beans, full of sweet passionfruit and rich blackcurrant flavour.
