Penny Rock Blend - Red Bank

We love everything we try from Lake District coffee roasters Red Bank, so it’s about time we offered their foundational espresso blend.

For this season it’s a crowd-pleasing mix of coffees from Red Bank’s partners in Brazil and Mexico that combine for a profile of milk chocolate body and honeycomb sweetness that makes a dependable espresso option both with and without milk.

The Brazilian portion is a natural process coffee grown by Helisson Afonso on the award-winning farm Baixadão in Mantiqueria de Minas. Baixadão is in the process of converting to organic farming, planting shade crops to improve soil health.

The washed Mexican share comes from Café El Zapateco, a group of farmers of Zapotec heritage in Oaxaca. This community help harvest each other's coffee instead of employing pickers, and their lots are combined at the nearby UNTAO dry mill where they are sorted and exported.
