Don't Feed the Ponies Oddy 2020 - Sandridge Barton
A really textural orange wine from English vineyard Sandridge Barton. Their experimental Don't Feed the Ponies range is all about showing off the terroir of their South Devon estate with low-intervention wines and traditional winemaking techniques.
This 100% Madeleine Angevine offers great complexity and character after three weeks skin contact fermentation with indigenous yeasts, with honeysuckle and candied orange peel on both the nose and palate.
Dry with grippy tannins, Oddy pairs perfectly with a rich cheeseboard and charcuterie- chill lightly and don't worry about the generous sediment- that's how you know it's the real deal.
Sandridge Barton's estate winery builds on the legacy of English wine pioneers Sharpham Wine, who established a vineyard in Devon's Dart Valley in 1981.
Since planting a new organic 450 acre estate near Stoke Gabriel, Sandridge Barton have built a state of the art winery that allows them to produce their wines with minimal intervention, sustainably blending modern and traditional techniques to express the unique terroir of South Devon.
Exciting natural English wine can be hard to find, so we love their new experimental Don't Feed The Ponies series; a range of low intervention wines named for the wild horses that roam in Dartmoor National Park.
