A real sweet treat from the Kobean roastery in Manchester. Their latest espresso coffee beans come from highly regarded producer Luis Anibal Calderon and are layered with moreish fig, caramel and white chocolate flavour.

Luis Anibal’s Colombian coffee (and plantain, banana, cassava…) farm Finca Villa Betulia specialises in experimental microlots of rare varieties and his coffees consistently score amongst the highest in the country.

This 30 hour washed Caturra lot is  more accessible and approachable than a lot of his offering, and is also a great one for espresso lovers to try Luis Anibal’s coffee.  The big time sweetness in this lot is all down to the natural sugars in the cherries, which are harvested at perfect ripeness thanks to a refractometer which measures the Brix.

Specialty coffee roastery Kobean is based in Heaton Moor, Stockport where they focus on sourcing interesting and experimental lots.

With the climate and economic issues that the specialty coffee industry faces, founder Kobe believes that the future of coffee is with producers who are keen to add that extra-special something to their coffee.
