Ndiaini, Kenya - Wood St. Coffee
This Kenyan AA coffee is named for the village of Ndiaini in Nyeri, whose name translates to “deepest part of the river”. Deep by name, deep in flavour; these coffee beans are rich with complex dark fruit flavour and winey sweetness.
The Ndia-Ini Co-operative was founded in 1969 and represents around 1200 smallholder members who farm in the rich, red volcanic soils and high altitudes of Nyeri county. Of these, 395 growers regularly deliver their harvest to the co-operative’s central washing station where coffee is carefully processed using the traditional fully-washed method.
Coffee from Kenya always stands out for its juicy and clean flavours and this one from Wood St Coffee is no different, showcasing everything that makes Kenyan coffee so distinctive.
Specialty coffee roasters Wood St started life as a coffee stall in Walthamstow’s Wood Street Indoor Market and slowly evolved into a permanent neighbourhood fixture, bringing REALLY GOOD COFFEE to their corner of East London.

In 2022, Clare and Gareth Reid handed over the reins of the cafe and honed in on their roasting business, moving into a large unit in Saffron Walden, Essex to meet the growing demand for their REALLY GOOD COFFEE across the hospitality sector.
It’s in high demand for a reason: responsibly sourced, democratised coffee, carefully roasted with the core belief that anyone can brew great coffee if given the tools, knowledge and training.
