Peru Luz Mely Sanchez - Fika Coffee
This washed Peruvian coffee roasted by Fika in Durham comes from San Jose de Lourdes in the mountainous region of San Ignacio. At Roger and Luz Mely Aguilar Sanchez’s lofty 1900MASL farm, the high altitudes of this area on the Ecuadorian border have a direct impact on the flavour of the coffee, with slow ripening resulting in a pronounced citrus acidity.
Pre-fermentation maceration and a 36 hour extended fermentation process gives these coffee beans great fruity character, that is balanced by a deliciously rich buttery body for an easy drinking and versatile cup.
