Shoondhisa, Ethiopia - Crankhouse Coffee
A bright and vibrant new bag roasted by Crankhouse. Their first Ethiopian coffee of the new season is a real celebration of the country, with blueberry acidity and the slight floral sweetness of agave nectar.
These naturally processed coffee beans come from cherries from the Shoondhisa kebele, sourced by Guji based Sookoo Coffee. The Guji Zone has become an iconic coffee-producing area of Oromia over the last few decades, with lush jungles at altitudes over 2000m producing very distinctive cup profiles.
Dried very precisely at the Damni Uddo station for up to 20 days, they offer clean floral sweetness without the heady booziness often associated with other naturals, perfect for filter brewing.
Exeter based Crankhouse Coffee launched in 2014, growing from a single car garage to a roastery in the heart of Exeter where quality is key. Today, they are dedicated to a sustainable future of coffee, and contribute to organisations that drive science-based change in the industry such as the Specialty Coffee Association, World Coffee Research, Alliance for Coffee Excellence and One Percent for the Planet.
