RAEK Katana DR Congo - Crankhouse Coffee
High quality coffee has proved a valuable crop in the DR Congo, making a big impact in the specialty coffee scene. This one from Crankhouse, processed naturally, has big rich chocolate body, with a hit of blood orange acidity and date sweetness.
RAEK is co-operative supporting Congolese specialty coffee on the shores of Lake Kivu and in the Kahuzi Biega National Park. They support small farmers with fair prices, ensuring that both their production quality and living conditions can be improved. Biodiversity and sustainability is also key in this tropical area, with all coffee grown organically and a programme of reforestation with shade trees in place.
Exeter based Crankhouse Coffee launched in 2014, growing from a single car garage to a roastery in the heart of Exeter where quality is key.
