about
Burundi Kanyinya Hill - Hundred House Coffee
A naturally processed lot from Burundi, these fruity coffee beans have been roasted by Hundred House and come from smallholder farmers who grow on Kanyinya Hill in Kirundo, northern Burundi. Here, ripe cherries are hand selected and sun-dried on raised beds for even fermentation, before being transported to the Ikawa Nziza drymill where they are processed in partnership with Cafex.
Cafex supports sustainable mills and washing stations that focus on, traceable micro-lot coffee- funding the production of high quality coffee while directy supporting the lives of local farmers.
Hundred House Coffee have been roasting in the Shropshire hills since 2017. From their small rural home near the Welsh border, they’ve opened a dialogue with rural farming communities all over the world to source the best coffee as ethically as possible. Co-founders Matthew Wade and Anabelle De Gersigny focus on careful small batch roasting backed by decades of coffee experience. The team at Hundred House’s passion for culture means their coffee also supports the creative community through outreach and collaboration.
